History of OSI
OSI Physical Therapy is a physical therapy practice started in 1980 whose owners all work for OSI. Mike Ripley, PT, ATC, and Jim Hoyme, PT, are the principal owners. Kathleen Picard, PT; Shari Walters, PT, OCS; Julie Meyer, PT, ATC; and Steve Peterson, PT, are shareholders of the company. We have grown from one office in Stillwater, Minnesota, to 8 offices in the east metro area and western Wisconsin. We now have over 50 physical therapists and occupational therapists and 10 physical therapist assistants.
Our therapists specialize in rehabilitation and prevention of orthopedic injuries and problems, and some of our therapists have become even more specialized in specific aspects of orthopedic care. Although our practice started with an emphasis on sports medicine, we have expanded in the areas of spinal rehabilitation, occupational health and workers’ comp, hand therapy, women’s health, aquatic therapy, balance disorders, TMJ disorders, and chronic pain.
OSI is a proud member of Therapy Partners, Inc. (TPI), which is a network of six private physical therapy practices in Minnesota. TPI provides health plan contracting, billing, and other support services to these practices. www.therapypartners.com. TPI has allowed OSI to gain contracts with nearly all local private and government health plans.
Because we are solely owned by employees who live in our local communities and have no financial ties to any hospital or physician group, we are only successful if we provide outstanding clinical care and customer service to those who seek our services. Our entire staff is committed to working as a team to serve the needs and exceed the expectations of our patients, their families, our referral sources, and all others who have a stake in our services.
Mike Ripley, PT, ATC Owner
BA in Physical Therapy, College of St. Scholastica - Duluth Certified/Registered Athletic Trainer Mike has practiced orthopedic physical therapy since 1978 and has been with OSI since 1981. He has treated patients in our Stillwater office for over 25 years and has strong relationships with local physicians, Stillwater High School athletic department, other local coaches and athletic directors, and many people in the Stillwater area.
Jim Hoyme, PT Owner
BA in Biology and Chemistry Augustana College - Sioux Falls, SD. BS in Physical Therapy, University of Central Arkansas - Little Rock Practiced Physical Therapy in orthopedics since 1980. He has been with OSI since 1986. Jim is OSI's Director of Operations and leads OSI's business administration and strategic initiatives. He has served in various leadership positions in the Minnesota American Physical Therapy Association and is active in several business leadership organizations.
